Located in Deerhead Nature Preserve near Smith Mountain Lake and the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, ONE Forest School is ready to immerse learners in the forest and the natural world, creating a sensory rich and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all ages.

I have personally been involved with the school from the first year of inception. My then 2 year old daughter participated daily throughout the entire summer, essentially as a student of the inaugural class. The experiences she had are still influencing her in a positive way two years later. We take every opportunity possible even now to do “drop-in” days with the School with my 4 year old, and I’m looking forward to being able to include my second daughter in these learning opportunities.
